International travel hotspots for summer 2025: A rundown of the popular destinations

In the upcoming Summer 2025 flight program, London retains its crown as the top international destination for U.S. travellers, according to Delta Air Lines' analysis. The analysis, based on search queries from November 1, 2024, to March 25, 2025, on Delta.com and the Fly Delta app, reveals an intriguing trend towards transatlantic travel.

Paris, the City of Love, secures the second place with a 16% increase in search queries compared to last year. Rome, the Eternal City, completes the European trio, holding the third rank. Joining them in the top 10 are Amsterdam, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona, Tokyo, New York City, and the rising star, Lisbon.

Tokyo climbs significantly in the popularity rankings, improving from seventh to sixth place, registering an impressive 54% increase in search queries. Lisbon makes its debut in the top 10, displacing Vancouver from the list, with a 6.5% increase in search queries, indicating growing interest in Portugal as a travel destination.

Atlanta, a Delta hub, is one of the most popular U.S. travel destinations for summer 2025. Las Vegas, Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston, Minneapolis, Detroit, and Honolulu are also among the top U.S. destinations.

The analysis, however, does not provide information about the top domestic U.S. summer destinations for 2025. Delta's global route network, covering more than 300 destinations across six continents, provides excellent connectivity to the top U.S. destinations.

Dominik Lelle, a frequent traveller and member of the online editorial team at AERO INTERNATIONAL since 2023, shares his passion for aviation by making the world of aviation engaging for readers. His exploration of new horizons reflects the growing openness and appeal of Asian destinations for the U.S. market, as suggested by the trend in the Delta Air Lines' analysis.
