A different airline will commence flights to Gelendzhik.

After more than three years of closure, Gelendzhik Airport has resumed operations, marking a significant milestone for the region. The airport, located on the shores of the Azov Sea in southern Russia, will once again welcome domestic flights, starting from July 18, 2025.

Leading the charge is Aeroflot, Russia's flag carrier, which will operate daily flights from Moscow to Gelendzhik. Initially, one daily flight will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft, with a flight duration of approximately 4 hours. From July 25, Aeroflot will operate two daily flights, and a third daily flight is planned for August due to high demand. The airline will switch to Airbus A321 for greater capacity from August 6.

Ticket prices for the Moscow-Gelendzhik route vary significantly. On the inaugural flight on July 18, a ticket could cost around 50,000 rubles, but by July 19, the price had dropped to about 21,000 rubles. From July 24 to 30, prices range from 21,000 to 35,000 rubles per ticket.

In addition to Aeroflot, S7 Airlines and Ural Airlines will also operate flights on this route from August 2025. Smartavia Airlines will launch flights from St. Petersburg to Gelendzhik, with flights scheduled to start in August 2025.

UTair will operate flights from Surgut and Tyumen, and S7 Airlines will operate flights from Novosibirsk, starting in August 2025. The detailed schedules, ticket prices, and flight frequencies for these routes are yet to be announced.

Gelendzhik Airport resumed operations on July 18, 2025, handling domestic flights daily between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time. Flight restrictions at Gelendzhik have been lifted since July 10, 2025, with full readiness to accept civil aircraft.

The resumption of flights to Gelendzhik is indicative of the growing tourist demand for the city, placing it among the top sought-after Russian domestic destinations along with Sochi and Kaliningrad. For the latest prices or booking options, ticket sales are available on the official websites of Aeroflot and the other mentioned airlines.
