Adopted Feline: A Family in Krasnodar Now Hinders a Turksish Cat
In a heartwarming tale of resilience and care, a stray cat named Burak has found a new lease on life in the city of Krasnodar, Russia.
Burak's journey began when he was rescued from a ship travelling from Istanbul to Novorossiysk. Due to customs regulations, he was initially unable to enter Russia or return to his home in Turkey.
Zoovolunteer Luce Korchunova took Burak under her wing, temporarily housing him. She reported that the cat meowed loudly at night and often threw himself at the cage, signs of his distress and lack of adaptation.
Despite these challenges, Burak's behavior improved over time under Luce's care. She attributed his behavior to his struggle to adapt, and even played Turkish shows and used a nightlight to soothe him.
Burak's life took another turn when he became a second owner of a Krasnodar family. It was around this time that Luce commented that Burak was doing well and would adapt faster due to being loved.
In a significant milestone, Burak officially became a Russian citizen in June 2025, receiving a veterinary passport. This was a remarkable achievement, as there is no reported information about animals being granted citizenship in this context.
As for the "Krasnodog" shelter, there have been reports suggesting its potential closure. However, no information about how to help the shelter has been provided.
On July 28, it was reported that Burak had found new owners and is now living a happy life in Krasnodar. Despite the challenges he faced, Burak's story serves as a reminder of the power of love, care, and resilience.
It is worth noting that feeding animals near apartment buildings in Russia may soon be subject to a fine, reaching up to 5,000 rubles, as a measure to maintain cleanliness and order in urban areas.
- As Burak adapted to his new lifestyle in Krasnodar, he found joy in being a part of a family with pets, sharing his days with their other furry companions.
- Inspired by Burak's story, some travelers might consider visiting Krasnodar, not only for sightseeing but also to meet this remarkable feline who has touched so many hearts.
