Aragon's Energy Sector Unites to Push for RDL 7/2025 Validation

Representatives from the Aragonese and Spanish energy sector, including CEOE Aragón, Clenar, and UNEF, have united to urge political parties to validate a norm for energy security and business competitiveness. Known as RDL 7/2025, this regulation presents a strategic opportunity for Aragon to solidify its energy leadership and strengthen its national standing in renewable generation.

The RDL 7/2025 offers numerous benefits, including the development of self-consumption and energy communities. This can revitalize rural areas, combat depopulation, and provide new opportunities for young people and freelancers. Moreover, the measures facilitated by the RDL speed up the implementation of storage and hybridization with existing installations.

The energy sector representatives appeal to the institutional responsibility and public service vocation of all political parties. They emphasize that the non-validation of RDL 7/2025 would have severe consequences, such as exposure to future crises, loss of international competitiveness, paralysis of investments, or energy dependence and vulnerability to geopolitical uncertainty.

Aragon is eager to see the RDL 7/2025 approved before the upcoming vote in the Congress of Deputies on July 22. The RDL provides security of the electricity supply, certainty for investors, and business competitiveness, while promoting energy sovereignty and advancing electrification. The energy sector representatives believe that the validation of this norm is crucial for a more competitive, secure, and modern Aragon and Spain.
