The big cheese, the northern and Arctic territories development committee, in collaboration with the affairs of KMNS (Communist Youth Union) of the Krasnoyarsk regional parliament, has been chatting away about this hot topic. The budget for the summer holiday whirlwind for minors in this region is estimated at a cool 1,900,000,000 rubles, promising a getaway for more than 115,000 youngsters.
The grand folks from the Arctic district will set sail for some thrilling health resorts, both in the southern parts of Krasnoyarsk Krai and beyond. Over 430 tickets to southern camps and 2,210 passes for Arctic enthusiasts will be scored for out-of-region fun. Don't be surprised if you see Russian wonderkids exploring the lands of Tatarstan, Gelendzhik, Stavropol, the Rostov region, the mineral springs of the Caucasus, the shores of the Black, and even the Japanese seas!
Kids from remote areas like Norilsk, Evenkiyan, Turukhansk, Taïmyr, Dolgan-Nenets districts can look forward to extended vacations of up to 42 days, as the tab runs high – over 71,000 rubles per trip. But fret not, parents, as you'll only have to shoulder about a third of that cost, while the remaining bill will be covered by the region's budget.
What's more, for certain categories of kids, passes and transportation will be on the house - think disabled children, kids from large and low-income families, orphans, or children of war veterans.
A juicy 7,000,000 ruble chunk has been earmarked for the southern districts of Evenkiya in accordance with recently enacted regional laws. Although Evenkiya doesn't fall into the Arctic zone, the Northern privileges still apply, ensuring free transportation to and from the holiday spot, as well as free accommodation, food, and camp passes outside the region. Last year, 34 lucky little ones got to enjoy this offer.
Almost 500 young athletes from northern Krasnoyarsk Krai will be joining the fun too, with budding talents from Igarcka and Kodinsk practising their skills at the "Serebryany Bor" sports complex.
Deputies have been mulling over the nitty-gritty of holiday arrangements, like solving logistical problems on the ground. For instance, increased meal costs in summer camps on Taïmyr or resolving aviation issues in Evenkiya are on the agenda. Overall, more summer camps will be established, with both state-owned and private partnerships in the works.
