Contest for Composing Patriotic Poems: Suggestions for Poems About the National Flag in Hindi and English via MyGov

The Tiranga, the national flag of India, holds great symbolic importance in Indian culture, representing courage and sacrifice (saffron), peace and truth (white and Ashoka Chakra), and faith and chivalry (green). To celebrate and honour this emblematic symbol, the Tiranga Challenge has been introduced for Independence Day 2025.

This program, a joint initiative by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Nirmit Bharat, DigiHaat, and MyGov India, invites students nationwide to participate in various creative activities. The challenge can be accessed at MyGov.in, and participants are encouraged to share their submissions using the hashtag #TirangaChallenge on Twitter.

The Tiranga Challenge offers three main categories for students to showcase their creativity and patriotism. They can upload an Independence Day selfie with the Indian national flag (Tiranga), submit unique artwork or drawings inspired by the Tiranga, or write short patriotic poems within 50-100 words. Students can also use the provided poems as inspiration for their Tiranga-themed posters.

The Tiranga Poems consist of five verses in English, each expressing different aspects of the Tiranga's symbolism. The first poem, "Colors of Unity," describes the Tiranga as a symbol of unity and hope. The second poem, "Waves of Pride," emphasizes the Tiranga's role in representing courage, peace, and growth. The third poem, "Emblem of Dreams," portrays the Tiranga as a symbol of dreams that never fade or die. The fourth poem, "Echoes of Valor," highlights the Tiranga's connection to heroes and brave deeds. The fifth poem, "Three Colors, One Heart," focuses on the Tiranga as a symbol of unity, hope, and truth.

In addition to these English poems, several short poems in Hindi have been designed to encourage students to take part in the Tiranga Challenge. These include "Rangon ki Shaan," which describes the Tiranga as a symbol of the nation's spirit, "Tirange ki Preerana," which encourages faith in the Tiranga, and "Deshbhakti ki Dhadakan," which expresses love for the nation through the Tiranga.

Aside from the main Tiranga Challenge, students can also engage in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, which invites participants to hoist the national flag at home anytime between August 2 and 15, 2025, and upload a selfie with the flag on the official portal to receive a digital certificate and e-card. There is also the Green Tiranga Challenge by GoSharpener, encouraging students to creatively celebrate independence by making eco-friendly Tiranga flags from recycled materials, participating in debates on climate justice, planting trees, and logging sustainable actions, blending patriotism with environmental sustainability.

Overall, students can participate in the Tiranga Challenge by hoisting the Tiranga at home or school, taking selfies with the flag and uploading them on official campaign portals, creating and submitting flag artwork or patriotic poems, engaging in eco-friendly activities tied to the Green Tiranga Challenge, and registering through the official websites like MyGov or Har Ghar Tiranga portal to take part and download participation certificates.
