In the vibrant city of Amberg, students from the Media Technology program at the University of Applied Sciences (OTH) have been honing their skills in producing professional image videos, short films, and audio plays as part of their studies.

Recently, these talented individuals showcased their creativity and expertise by designing, producing, and live-streaming a unique Stammtisch video titled "Obatzt is!". This video, focused on dialect and language, delves into the nuances of Bavarian dialect, its usage, and cultural significance.

The Stammtisch format, a traditional German gathering, was the perfect backdrop for this engaging discussion. Guests included Prof. Dr. F. Kelleter and Prof. Dr. M. Schranz, who contributed insightful perspectives during the broadcast.

The January Stammtisch broadcast was particularly noteworthy, featuring rapper Daniel Kiste from Amberg, dialect researcher and preserver Dr. Ludwig Schießl from Oberviechtach, "Willy Nachdenklich" from Amberg, Salim Abo Harash, a Syrian refugee living in Germany, Felix Bauernfeind (a Schuhplattler), and the music duo "Colourful" (Samuel and Johanna Dupke).

Felix Bauernfeind, one of the Schuhplattlers, even demonstrated his Schuhplatteln skills live during the broadcast, adding an entertaining and authentic touch to the discussion. Salim Abo Harash shared his experiences with the German language and Bavarian dialect, offering a refreshing perspective to the conversation.

Meanwhile, in other parts of Germany, notable events continue to unfold. In Regensburg, a Weidener is facing challenges in changing his Russian-sounding name due to repeated harassment. In Upper Franconia, a 74-year-old woman fell while climbing, and her safety rope failed to catch her. Authorities in Eslarn are taking action against a man accused of abusing his Kangal dog.

Elsewhere, Germany's retired swimmer, Franziska van Almsick, continues to grapple with an eating disorder in stressful situations. And in Fronberg near Schwandorf, a 73-year-old man is suspected of exposing himself and masturbating in front of a family on a parking lot.

The OTH students received support from Professor Elmar Hergenröder, who works at Bayerischer Rundfunk, in their endeavour to create this engaging and informative Stammtisch video. The video is available on various platforms, including YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Pinterest, Twitter, Mail, and Print.

The video's creative title, "Obatzt is!", has resonated with viewers, attracting interest and appreciation for the students' efforts in preserving and celebrating Bavarian dialect.
