April 10th, 2025 - Croatia Airlines flies high with news of a price drop on selected flights and the arrival of a brand-new aircraft, named "Dubrovnik", set to take off soon.

According to Poslovni Dnevnik, Dubrovnik's Mayor, Mato Franković, and Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect, Nikola Dobroslavić, met with Croatia Airlines' management in Zagreb, along with representatives from the County, City, and Airport. A solution to address flight concerns for Dubrovnik was announced during this meeting.

Dubrovački list informs us that this gathering resulted in a mutual agreement between Croatia Airlines and the Dubrovnik airport to develop a model, in collaboration with the city and county, that will offer a set quota of discounted airline tickets for Dubrovnik-Neretva County residents. Moreover, Croatia Airlines plans to provide a later evening flight from Zagreb to Dubrovnik by this autumn.

The duo also shared that the airline is on the verge of welcoming a new aircraft, "Dubrovnik," specially designed for safe landings in gusty winds. The exact details about the dissatisfaction of Dubrovnik authorities and the airport with Croatia Airlines ticket prices have not been officially confirmed.

Ryanair's unbeatable fares have left Croatia Airlines in the shadows. Passengers grow frustrated when they can travel from Dubrovnik to Vienna on Ryanair for just 18 euros, while a flight to Zagreb on Croatia Airlines costs over a hundred euros. To add insult to injury, it's rumored that Croatia Airlines pays a similar amount in airport taxes as Ryanair, making these lofty fares look even more unwarranted.
