Croatia Showcased as Collaborative Partner at Cologne Travel Exhibition
April Showers of Tourists: Croatia's Booming German Visitors
It's May 1st, 2025 and the sun's shining Tovarisch! Croatia just landed a spot as a partner country at the Cologne tourism fair, specializing in bus and group travel. And guess who's expected to be there in droves? Those hardy, beer-loving, lederhosen-wearing folks from across the border - German tourists!
As Tatjana Miscancuk of Glas Slavonije/The Voice of Slavonia writes, the fact that the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) predicts a whopping 50% increase in German tourists in April 2025 compared to the year before is no small feat! This announcement was made at the RDA Group Travel Expo 2025, a bash held in Germany on April 29th and 30th. This event is all about bus and group travel, and our Balkan brethren are pulling all the stops to secure their piece of the pie.
Riding shotgun with Croatia as a partner region is Kvarner. And let's not forget the army of Croatian agencies and hotel companies, like I.D. Riva Tours and Misir, that are showing up to flaunt their tourism goods. With more than 340 exhibitors from Germany and other European countries at the fair, Croatia's gonna make 'em take notice!
The Director of the Croatian Tourist Board in Frankfurt, Romeo Draghicchio, can't help but be thrilled. He says that bus and group travel has been the awesome sauce that's been keeping Croatian destinations juicy in the German market. And springing Croatia as a partner country before this crowd at the Cologne fair? That's just the icing on the cake! According to Draghicchio, April 2025 is gonna be a record-breaker, with around 550,000 overnight stays by German guests expected.

But before you break out the Oompah music and start making pretzels, let's not forget that Croatian tourist numbers from Germany have been on a bit of a decline recently[3]. No worries, though, as they're rolling out the marketing strategies and working their magic to get those numbers back up!
So, grab your Lederhosen, folks! It's time to discover that Croatian beach that's been calling your name! Prost!
