In recent days, a significant increase in the number of passenger cars has been observed at the borders between Belarus and its neighbouring countries.

While the number of passenger cars has more than doubled since August 2nd, reaching over 4,500 vehicles this week, the situation at the Latvian border remains smooth with no queues for vehicles. The current situation at the Latvian border also suggests no vehicles waiting to cross.

However, the story is different at the Belarus-Poland border where long queues are common. Bus wait times can exceed 10 hours, and car queues are substantial, with hundreds of cars waiting. Polish authorities have increased border controls, leading to these delays.

The situation at the Belarus-Lithuania border is slightly better, with queues common but less congested compared to the Poland border. Travelers are advised to plan ahead and possibly use less congested crossing points due to truck traffic and tightened border checks.

At the Lithuanian border in "Kamenny Log", there are currently 20 passenger cars, a significant decrease from the previous numbers. Similarly, at the border crossing in "Beniakony", there are no queues for vehicles.

The current wait time to exit Belarus by car into Lithuania, Poland, or the EU varies depending on the border crossing but can be substantial, particularly at the Belarus-Poland border. Waiting in line for vehicles could potentially take over three days, given the current number of cars.

Travelers are advised to check with border authorities or updated travel advisories shortly before travel for the most precise and current wait times.

It's worth noting that on August 2nd, over 2,000 vehicles joined the queues, causing a significant backlog of vehicles. However, the current situation at the Lithuanian border suggests a significant decrease in the number of vehicles waiting to cross. At 6 AM, there were 2,600 passenger cars, but the number has since decreased.

At the moment, the number of passenger cars at the Latvian border is zero, indicating a smooth crossing for those travelling to or from Latvia.

Although the number of passenger cars at the Latvian border is none, the Belarus-Poland border shows a drastic change with hundreds of cars waiting to cross, leading to wait times that can exceed 10 hours. Conversely, while travelers at the Belarus-Lithuania border might still face queues, the lifestyle of those planning to travel by car could experience less congestion compared to some other borders, due to the implications of truck traffic and tightened border checks.
