Unfortunately, direct flights from Omsk to Kaliningrad aren't in the cards this year, as per the regional transport ministry's response to a concerned citizen's query on the Omsk airport's public page.
"I'm sorry to inform you that the launch of an Omsk-Kaliningrad airline this year isn't planned", reads the statement from the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of Omsk Oblast.
It's worth noting that direct flights to Kaliningrad were announced back in 2022, but never took off from Omsk's airport. In 2023, Kaliningrad made the list of dream destinations for direct flights on the Omsk airport's social media pages.
When asked about passenger requests for these direct flights at the Omsk airport, they mentioned that they come in regularly, but negotiations with various carriers haven't yielded any results—no airline is willing to take on such a long route (roughly 3,300 kilometers).
