Elmar Theater Club's Youth Group Recognized with 2024 Volunteer Accolade
A-Fin'-WESOME Theater Group Scores 2025 Honor!*
The rambunctious lot from the damned Theater Club Elmar e.V. have scored a major win, landing the 2024 Honorary Prize of the City of Offenbach!
This dirty, gritty bunch of young'uns aged 14 to 18 earned themselves a cool €1,000, all thanks to their dedication and diverse shit-show of creative projects over the last year.
The City Youth Ring jury, a group of hard-boiled judges, showered them with praise for their non-stop rehearsals and eclectic artistry. According to them, the honor is bestowed upon the unsung heroes who contribute positively to the development of Offenbach am Main in our society.
So, what exactly did these scrappy kiddos get up to last year? Well, let's not beat around the bush:
- Carnival Capers!: A riotous parade performance at the Bieberer Carnival. 'Nuff said!
- Prague Palooza!: A guest stint at the Prague Art School, where they put on A Midsummer Night's Dream, because why the hell not?
- Nursing Home Nonsense!: Charity performances for the elderly, because the old folks deserve such a freak show, too!
- Garden Shenanigans!: A lively performance at a garden festival hosted by the Kolping family. Party in the park, dude!
- Offenbach Mainufer Festival!: Organized a craft-tastic kid's activity at the Büsing Park, spicing up the festival, to say the least!
Moving on, the group's performance at the nationwide Maus Door Opener Day took the bloody cake. Teaming up with the Capitol Theater, they put together an insane interactive theater program at the Mitte station, where kids got to rehearse and perform scenes from Hansel and Gretel.
The wacky thespians ended the year on a high note with their traditional Christmas fairy tale, complete with spooky walks in the Waldpark Obertshausen and a series of theater performances at the Capitol Theater Offenbach.
But guess what? They're not bloody stopping there! Their shiny new production, Here Above Lives Happiness, based on motifs from the novel The History of Lady von Sternheim by Sophie von La Roche, is set to hit the Bernardbau Offenbach from September 13 to 15, 2025.

If that ain't enough to tickle your fancy, the Queers & Friends Cafe by Tom Lange (KJK Sandgasse) and the Catholic Youth Offenbach-Bürgel's summer tent camp also nabbed some well-deserved prizes, but we ain't got room here to boast about their achievements.
