"Experiencing Grace La Margna: A Chic, Peaceful, and Undeniably Stylish Retreat in St. Moritz"

St. Moritz, renowned as one of Europe's premier ski resorts, recently welcomed a new addition to its hotel landscape — Grace La Margna. This five-star luxury hotel, unveiled in August 2023, represents a fresh departure from the area's half-century stasis in hospitality.

Nestled opposite the train station, Grace La Margna occupies a refurbished 20th-century Art Nouveau building. Originally a three-star hotel, the property has undergone a meticulous renovation overseen by Divercity Architects and interior designer Carole Topin, resulting in a stylish, relaxed, and modern establishment. The transformation positions the hotel as one of the best ski resort hotels in Europe.

The restoration project maintains the original architecture's local stone and curved lines while introducing a striking new wing of crisp, pale, and sculptural design. This rare balance between heritage and contemporary style sets the hotel apart and showcases Topin's design expertise.

My suite, overlooking Lake St. Moritz, exuded elegance through its muted tones, luxurious materials, and expansive windows. The bathroom, generously sized and spa-like, exemplified thoughtfulness throughout the hotel's design.

Mornings began with lavish breakfast options in the main restaurant space. Help-yourself tables, an extensive à-la-carte menu, and a personalized croissant cart catered to every guest's taste. Children, in particular, were accommodated with a reserved buffet table at their height, a charming detail indicative of the hotel's meticulous approach.

Dinner at The View offered an exquisite Mediterranean-leaning tasting menu. Light flavors, skillful wine pairing, and a charming tableside tiramisu culminated in an unforgettable dining experience. For a more traditional Swiss affair, one could visit Stüvetta, which serves fondue and other alpine classics in a warm, intimate atmosphere reminiscent of times gone by.

The bar and living area, with a roaring fire and soft velvet seating, provided a cozy space to unwind. The cocktail menu presented as a tarot deck, each drink associated with a unique character, added a touch of whimsy.

Grace La Margna boasts a world-class spa, equipped with a 20-meter indoor pool, a well-lit relaxation area, and a range of rejuvenating treatments. Service across the board proved excellent, from effortless ski equipment arrangements to efficient shuttle services tailored for guests' needs.

Uncommon for the area, Grace La Margna welcomes visitors year-round, catering not only to winter sports enthusiasts but also offering summer activities such as hiking, biking, and more. For train travelers, seamless transfers and the hotel's central location eliminate the need for a car.

Grace La Margna represents a refreshing deviation from traditional St. Moritz hotels, offering a thoughtful blend of historic preservation and contemporary design. This luxury retreat appeals to travelers seeking not only comfort but also a thoughtful, understated atmosphere.
