Exquisite Moselle Hotel Transforms into Grand Movie Theatre

From the moment you step foot on the grounds of Schloss Lieser, nestled beneath the sloping vineyards, you'll feel enchanted. With the Mosel glistening in the distance, it's the perfect setting for daydreams and reminiscing.

Wineries, Wines, and Wonderful Hospitality

The area's unique slate soil lends a distinct flavor to the Mosel wines, making them a true delight. Markus Molitor, the Riesling Pope of the Middle Mosel, cultivates primarily Riesling and Burgundy varieties on more than 25 steep slopes, many recognized as Grand Cru. His extraordinary creations have garnered high praise, and a visit to Schloss Lieser wouldn't be complete without tasting his wines.

eleven of the 101 hoteliers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland choose their favorite wine from one of Molitor's barrels during a private wine tasting at his winery.

A Fairytale Castle with a Rich History

Built in the Neorenaissance style between 1884 and 1887, Schloss Lieser bears resemblance to classic Italian Palladian villas. Eduard Puricelli, a wealthy entrepreneur with Italian roots, was the mastermind behind the castle. Not only did he plant vineyards on the surrounding hills, but he also constructed a private chapel for his devout Catholic family. Still today, the romantic chapel is used for weddings.

The castle was further expanded around the turn of the century by Puricelli's daughter Maria and her husband, the Prussian official Dr. Clemens Freiherr von Schorlemer-Lieser. The addition of an Art Nouveau annex lends a harmonious blend of architectural styles that can still be seen in the rooms and suites today.

In 2007, Dutch businessman Piet Killaars and his wife Anja Killaars-Morbach transformed the castle into a luxury hotel with 34 rooms and 15 suites. Careful renovations were made to preserve the historical charm while introducing modern amenities.

A Worldly Ambiance and First-Class Amenities

From the marble-accented 800-square-meter spa with fitness facilities, steam rooms, and a waterfall, to the elegant restaurant serving refined cuisine with regional ingredients, Schloss Lieser offers an unrivaled five-star experience. The team, made up of employees from around the world, brings a sense of warmth and professionalism to every interaction.

Hikes along the Mosel promenade or in the Moselsteig offer a look at the diverse landscape, vineyards, and historic sites. However you choose to spend your time, Schloss Lieser is a breathtaking sanctuary in the heart of the Mosel region.
