Festivity at Krämerbrücken approaches: Official announcement imminent!

Let's Get Ready to Party! It's almost here! Krämerbruckenfest, the much-anticipated event in Erfurt, is set to rock from June 13th to 15th, 2025. Excitement is buzzing among locals who are readying themselves for a grand time.

With an anticipated huge crowd, the city has cooked up something exciting to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Erfurt: Public Transportation Revolution

This year's Krämerbrücke celebration holds a significant milestone—700 years old! Naturally, many want to be part of the festivities, and to accommodate this, the city has extended its public transportation services. Not only are the hours extended, but larger trams and buses will be brought in to guarantee a hassle-free festival experience.

On Saturday, June 14th, there will be increased trips on all tram lines and bus line 9 at Angerkreuz at 12:40 AM, 12:50 AM, and 1:00 AM. Post-fireworks, additional trams will be deployed in various directions. On both Saturday and Sunday, larger vehicles will be operating on tram lines 2, 3, and 5, as well as bus lines 9, 51, 60, and 90, allowing more passengers to board.

To keep the traffic flowing, the route network in the Markt and Schloßstraße area will be tweaked. Tram line 6 will only run between Rieth and Klinikum from 3 PM on Friday until 8 PM on Sunday. During this time, the section between Hauptbahnhof and Steigerstraße will be serviced by tram line 5. In this period, bus line 90 will halt at a substitute stop in front of the Regional Court.

Changes for the Wheel Heads

Drivers' needs have not been overlooked: The parking garage at Domplatz will be operational for longer. The hours are as follows:

  • Friday, June 13th, 2025: 7 AM to 12 AM
  • Saturday, June 14th, 2025: 7 AM to 12 AM, with the exit gate open until 1:30 AM the next day
  • Sunday, June 15th, 2025: 9 AM to 10 PM

Drivers can also use the parking garage at Hirschgarten. It is open from 5 PM to 11 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM to 11 PM on weekends.

In general, drivers are encouraged by EVAG to utilize the parking lot in Wartburgstraße. From there, they can take a leisurely stroll to the tram stop "P+R-Messe" and hop on line 2 directly to Domplatz, Fischmarkt, and Anger.

Additionally, the parking lot at Grubenstraße offers ample parking spaces and is connected to the Anger via tram line 5.
