Greifswald's Intercultural Week 2025: Celebrating Georgian Culture with Over 40 Events

Greifswald is gearing up for its annual Intercultural Week, running from September 19 to October 20, 2025. This year's celebration, organized by Network Migration Greifswald and over 50 supporting organizations, will highlight Georgian culture and feature over 40 events across the city.

The festival kicks off on September 19 at 3:30 PM with an official opening at the IGS Erwin Fischer. Throughout the three-week period, residents and visitors can enjoy a variety of activities in the Schönwalde I/Südstadt and Schönwalde neighborhoods. These include an intercultural football tournament, theater performances, film screenings, and concerts.

Film enthusiasts can look forward to film evenings, while music lovers can attend concerts and lectures. Sports fans can participate in sports events, and those interested in cooking can join group cooking sessions. A creative workshop titled 'Journey into the Georgian Alphabet' will also be held. On October 3, the Day of the Open Mosque will take place at the Islamic Cultural Center Greifswald.

With over 40 events planned, this year's Intercultural Week in Greifswald promises a diverse and engaging program. The festival aims to foster understanding and appreciation of different cultures, with a special focus on Georgia culture this year. The event is made possible through the collaboration of over 50 organizations and volunteers.
