Law enforcement officials carry out arrest warrant on a Dutch national, who settles a fine at Weeze airport
On Saturday, September 6, 2025, a dramatic incident unfolded at Niederrhein Airport Weeze, Germany. A 67-year-old Dutch national, travelling to Sarajevo, was stopped during exit control.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was sought by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Frankfurt am Main for property damage. An arrest warrant, issued by the same office, was executed at the airport.
According to flight records, the man was on Ryanair flight FR7411, registration EI-DCO, which took off at around 6:41 AM and landed in Sarajevo at 8:23 AM. However, no information about the arrest by the Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor's office or details about the property damage incident could be found in the flight records.
A verification of the man's personal details revealed that an arrest warrant had been issued against him. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the man managed to avoid imminent detention by paying a fine of 3000 euros plus 77.50 euros in procedural costs to the Federal Police on the spot.
The man's travel destination was not altered as a result of the police measures, and he was allowed to continue his journey after completing the police procedures. The fine amount for his sentencing was a total of 3377.50 euros.
The incident serves as a reminder that travelers should always ensure their documents are in order and they are not wanted by any authorities before embarking on a journey.
