Lufthansa unveils winter flight plan update – fresh A380 destination added at Munich Airfield
Starting October 26, 2025, passengers traveling from Munich Airport will witness changes as Lufthansa unveils its new winter flight schedule. While the schedule does not feature an abundance of new destinations, it emphasizes stability, punctuality, and reliability, particularly during the holiday season.
Highlights of the winter flight schedule include the increased deployment of the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Daily flights to New York (John F. Kennedy and Newark), Chicago, Shanghai, Cape Town, Miami, and Tokyo will be operated using the A350-900. Bengaluru in India will be served thrice a week with this aircraft.
The world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, will also serve some routes from Munich Airport. San Francisco, in addition to Bangkok, Delhi, and Los Angeles, will be an A380 destination for the winter flight schedule. The routes served by the A380 in the summer schedule, including Boston, Denver, New York, and Washington D.C., will be serviced by the Airbus A350 in the winter.
Furthermore, Lufthansa is expanding its network from Munich with other aircraft, including flights to New York (JFK and Newark), Chicago, Miami, Shanghai, Cape Town, Tokyo, and Bengaluru.
In related news, over half a million passengers have enjoyed the new Allegris cabin on Lufthansa's A350-900 aircraft, indicating these aircraft operate on high-demand routes. However, specific new A350-900 destinations from Munich are not detailed in the winter schedule.
