Marella Cruises introduces a price comparison tool, highlighting the value of comprehensive cruise packages.

In an effort to challenge the perception that other holiday types offer better value than cruises, Marella Cruises has unveiled an innovative All-Inclusive Cruise Calculator. The tool aims to help potential customers compare the costs of cruise holidays with competitors, highlighting the total value of an all-inclusive package.

According to recent research, over 60% of the UK population plans a summer holiday abroad this year, and nearly half (46%) of respondents would be open to taking a cruise if they could easily compare costs. With this in mind, Marella's Managing Director, Chris Hackney, believes the calculator will allow customers to see the value for money provided by Marella, including an exceptional end-to-end service that includes flights, transfers, tips, accommodation, entertainment, food, and drink offerings, and fantastic service.

The calculator emphasises Marella Cruises' all-inclusive offerings, which include flights, transfers, accommodation, meals, drinks (including alcohol), tips, and entertainment. It uses data from Google Flights for airline comparisons and drink prices from menus of other cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and P&O Cruises. By tallying up all the included expenses, the calculator demonstrates how an all-inclusive package can be more cost-effective than booking individual components separately with other cruise lines.

For example, a Mediterranean cruise with Marella might cost £777 per person, including flights and all amenities, compared to £1,601 per person on average with other lines. The calculator shows potential savings by comparing Marella's all-inclusive cost with estimated costs from other cruise lines, suggesting significant savings can be made, such as £824 per person on a Mediterranean cruise.

Travel influencer Chelsea Dickensen, known as a 'Cheap Holiday Expert', supports the calculator and notes that with Marella, costs such as flights, transfers, meals, drinks, and tips are included as a standard part of the package. She highlights that prices for all-inclusive holidays have risen, with an average increase of 4.2% compared to 2024, but cruise holidays are expected to surpass pre-pandemic levels, reaching 37.1 million passengers in 2025.

The calculator provides clarity on what is included in the price, helping new-to-cruise customers feel more confident in their holiday choices. It aims to shift the perception that all-inclusive cruises offer the best value for money, encouraging more people to consider this type of holiday.

Overall, the All Inclusive Cruise Calculator is a valuable tool for travelers looking to compare costs and make informed decisions about their holiday spending. With over 70% of Brits not knowing that transfers are typically included in an all-inclusive cruise, the calculator offers transparency and clarity for those considering a cruise holiday.
