North German Delegation Explores Business Opportunities in Northwest Morocco
A North German economic delegation, led by the Bremen Chamber of Commerce, recently concluded a successful visit to Northwest Morocco. The delegation, headed by Handelskammer President Eduard-Dubbers-Albrecht, explored potential business opportunities and praised the region's modern infrastructure and potential.
The delegation's trip, from March 2nd to 7th, included visits to Tangier, Tetouan, and Casablanca. In Tangier, they held discussions with local investment promotion representatives, the textile industry, learning facilities, and the Ministry of Transformation and Sustainable Development. They also visited the deep-water port of Tanger-Med, one of the world's most modern container ports.
Harry Jasching-Oechsin, CEO of Ospig, highlighted the Moroccan textile industry's interest in closer ties with German companies, citing the strategic location of Morocco for shortening supply routes. Dr. Matthias Fonger, CEO of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce, expressed interest in close cooperation with Moroccan institutions for training and labor force access. The Deutsche Wirtschaftskammer Bremen, along with the IHK Tangier and the German-Moroccan Business Association, explored cooperation perspectives in vocational training exchange and joint qualification programs.
In Tetouan, the delegation visited a vocational school and noted the ambition of training in Morocco. The trip concluded with a visit to the OCP Group in Casablanca and a tour of the Tangier Automotive City (TAC) and the Tangier Industrial Zone, which houses over 500 foreign companies.
The North German economic delegation's visit to Northwest Morocco has opened avenues for potential cooperation, particularly in the textile industry, training, and infrastructure. With its modern ports, ambitious training, and strategic location, Northwest Morocco presents attractive opportunities for German businesses.
