Pahalgam Terror Incident: Kerala Family Evades Disaster Due to Abundant Salt in Meal
In a jaw-dropping twist, a Kerla-rooted vacationing family managed a miraculous survival from the heart-wrenching terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, all thanks to a little too much salt in their lunch!
The bloodbath, claiming 26 innocent souls, sent shockwaves across the nation. In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led an intensified Cabinet Committee on Security meeting, culminating in a decision to substantially lower diplomatic relations with Pakistan. As the nation waits with bated breath for the next move from the government and army, a tales of fortune amidst calamity has emerged from the wreckage.
Salt, the Unsung Hero
A curious set of 11 buddies from Kerla were frolicking around Kashmir and on their way to the charming destination of Baisaran near Pahalgam when the attack unfolded. Lavanya, one of the travel mates, shared her experience with The Times of India, revealing how an insignificant mishap turned their world upside down.
"We decided to take a break for lunch, but the fried rice dished out was chock-full of sodium," Lavanya reminisced. "It tasted foul, so we asked the restaurant to fix the food. That minor delay extended our journey by roughly 60 minutes."
Had the family not been delayed by that salty meal, they would've reached the spot of the gruesome assault—targeted against tourists for their faith.
A Nail-Biter
The family comprising veteran Elby George, his spirited companion Lavanya, their progeny, Lavanya's dear parents, kinfolks and their brood embarked from Kochi on April 18, frolicked in Gulmarg and Sonamarg earlier and subsequently journeyed towards Pahalgam on April 23.
Upon reaching the meadow outside Baisaran, the group found panic all around. "We could hear people screeching, taxis careening away, and it became evident that something dreadful had occurred," Lavanya shared. Only through calls from family members did they discover that a terror attack had transpired exactly where they had planned to go.
'Celestial Chef Sprinkled Extra Seasoning!'
Rattled, the family swiftly departed, returning to their sanctuary, where they experienced a sleepless night. "In hindsight, it feels as though a celestial chef deliberately crafted that extra salty dish to save us," Lavanya mused, still stunned by their close shave with death.
