Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia, and Harbin, China, are set to be connected by direct flights for the first time in 2026, offering new opportunities for tourism, business, and cultural exchange. The agreement for the direct air communication was made by the regional governor and is being implemented by the airlines "Aeroflot" and "Aurora".

As of mid-2025, there were no direct flights between Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Harbin. While other Russian cities such as Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, and Yakutsk, as well as East Asian hubs, had direct flights to Harbin, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was not on the list. No confirmed plans or timelines for establishing direct flights between the two cities have been disclosed in available sources.

The modernised international airport in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is the key factor enabling the launch of regular flights. The Ministry of Transport of Russia has been assigned to develop a detailed implementation plan (roadmap) by September 2024. The first flight on the route between the two cities is expected in 2026.

The news about the implementation of the direct flights was reported by the Kamchatka News Agency. The regional governor has announced an agreement with "Aeroflot" and "Aurora" for regular flights. The plans for direct air communication between the two cities have been in the works since 2011.
