More folks are hopping on their trusty steeds to make the most of the long weekend, and the end of the Whitsun holidays. But fret not, Corpus Christi itself might be a bit more relaxed, considering most short-timers will be packing their bags and hitting the road by Wednesday afternoon, predicts ADAC expert Holger Bach.
It's Crunch Time on the Autobahns
So, what's the deal with these busy routes you ask? Well, here's where it gets interesting. Prepare yourself for slow rides on the A5 (Basel - Karlsruhe - Heidelberg), A6 (Nuremberg - Heilbronn - Mannheim), A7 (Füssen - Ulm - Würzburg), A8 (Munich - Stuttgart - Karlsruhe), and A81 (Singen - Stuttgart - Heilbronn), plus the Greater Stuttgart area.
More Trouble Around the Corner
But that's not all! There are some constructions sites out there slowing down the rolls. The areas to watch out for are a section on the A8 near Pforzheim and an area on the A6 between the Walldorf interchange and Wiesloch. Last year, the total length of traffic jams in Baden-Württemberg at the end of the Whitsun holidays was a whopping 416 kilometers!
Time for a detour? Not exactly! Just remember to hit the road before 8:00 AM or after 6:00 PM and try to be flexible with your schedule.
