Stranded at Sochi Airport: Flights to Israel Cancelled Indefinitely 🛫
Stranded travelers in Sochi receive a response from Russia's aviation authority regarding their predicament in Israel.
A rep from Rosaviatsiya, Artem Koreniya, addresses rumors swirling about passengers stuck at Sochi Airport, intended for a Red Wings Airlines flight to Tel Aviv.
―There ain't no stranded folks at Sochi Airport hankering ' bout that WZ-4311 flight to Tel Aviv right now, Koreniya stated on his Telegram channel. Folks were treated to some grub and grog last night, and those who didn't bail on the flight were later shacked up in a motel, all in accordance with federal aviation regulations (FAA-82).
After Israel's airspace got shut down and the flight was canned, passengers were given the option of a refund on their tickets or holding out for flights to resume. Red Wings has called off flights to Israel until mid-June.
FYI, changes have also hit routes to several other hotspots. Aeroflot has declared adjustments to flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha (charter flights), and Male.
