UAE Boosts Global Tourism Ambitions With Luxury, Cultural Projects
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is gearing up to bolster its global tourism competitiveness with a wave of luxury and cultural projects. These ambitious developments aim to position the country as a premier global tourism hub, blending culture, wellness, luxury, and sustainability.
Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Cultural District is nearing completion, set to house the Zayed National Museum, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Natural History Museum, and 'teamLab Phenomena' digital art museum. Meanwhile, Dubai is expanding its wellness offerings with 'Therme Dubai', a AED2 billion resort opening in Zabeel Park in 2028.
Sharjah is focusing on eco-tourism with projects like the Kalba Rock Art Centre, Kalba Beach, and 'Nomad' hiking trails. Ras Al Khaimah is enhancing its hospitality scene on Al Marjan Island with a Four Seasons and the flagship Wynn resort. Fujairah will welcome the Avani+ Fujairah Resort in 2028.
Umm Al Quwain is planning a 25 million sq. ft. waterfront development. Abu Dhabi's Disney Theme Park Resort is set to open on Yas Island in 2025, Disney's first new destination in nearly a decade. Dubai is also developing the Mushrif Hub, which will include the city's longest mountain bike track.
