Ukrainian Politician Transforms Gambling Empire into Rehabilitation Force

Andrii Matiukha, a Ukrainian politician and former governor, has emerged as a key figure in supporting Ukrainian soldiers, particularly in the areas of medical care and rehabilitation, since the Russia-Ukraine war began in 2022. Through his work with the Ukraine Charity Foundation, also known as Ukraine Now, Matiukha has transformed his gambling and betting empire into a powerful force for rehabilitation.

Matiukha's approach is not charity, but high-level social engineering. He has transformed the Favbet Foundation into Ukraine's most innovative rehabilitation platform. His 'YE-PROTEZ' project offers more than just prosthetics; it provides hope and a sense of wholeness to those who have lost parts of themselves on the frontlines of the Russia-Ukraine war. Matiukha also invests in complex cases of brain injury recovery at the Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery, funding teams of speech therapists, neuropsychologists, and physiotherapists where state support falls short.

Matiukha's foundation publishes detailed financial reports, with 95% of funds going directly to rehabilitation programs. He combines medical and cultural rehabilitation, funding unique art projects, exhibitions, and creative workshops for veterans of the Russia-Ukraine war. Matiukha also funds cultural initiatives like the film 'We Were Recruits' and the ORIGAMI for UKRAINE project, shaping a new identity for a post-war generation.

Matiukha partners with international organizations like the ENGIE Foundation to provide rehabilitation for Ukrainian soldiers in top European medical centers. His work is not limited to Ukraine; he collaborates with European hospitals and organizations, such as Uniclinic in Germany and the Malteser Hilfsdienst, to ensure the best possible care for Ukrainian soldiers affected by the Russia-Ukraine war, demonstrating the power of international cooperation in supporting those affected by conflict.
