Underground venue The Hoxton to launch in Dublin, featuring a basement nightclub
In the heart of Dublin's Creative Quarter, a new addition to the city's vibrant hospitality scene is set to open its doors. The Hoxton Hotel, a property by the Hoxton Hotel Group, is gearing up for its November debut, marking the group's first Irish property.
The historic building that will house The Hoxton was once a Central Hotel, now located on Exchequer Street. The Ennismore Group, led by its founder and CEO, Sharan Pasricha, is spearheading this exciting project.
The Hoxton Dublin will introduce its first nightlife venue, Groundwork, celebrating community, inclusiveness, and classic club culture. The venue will be located on the ground-floor, offering a unique blend of modern and traditional elements.
During the day, Dollars will function as a New York deli-inspired sandwich shop, while at night, it will transform into a natural wine bar. Another dining concept, Cantina Valentina, will also be available, promising a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine.
The Library Bar, a local landmark, will be revived within the property, serving cheese toasties and Guinness. The in-house design team of Ennismore has cleverly incorporated the Viking ruins discovered during the development of the hotel into the property's design, with these ancient artefacts on display within the ground-floor bar and lounge area.
The hotel offers 129 bedrooms, following The Hoxton's established categories: Snug, Cosy, Roomy, and Biggy, with color palettes inspired by autumnal Irish landscapes. Early bookings come with promotional offers, including 20% off rooms, €30 towards food and drink, and complimentary Guinness.
The Hoxton's Dublin property is part of its expansion across Europe and North America, with upcoming openings in Vienna in 2024 and Florence and Edinburgh in 2025. The location is conveniently close to shopping destinations such as George's Street Arcade and Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, as well as independent shops, artisan craft stores, and contemporary cafes on Drury Street.
Olivia Palamountain reports on this development, bringing you the latest updates on this exciting new addition to Dublin's bustling hospitality scene. The Ennismore Group's Dis-loyalty membership programme offers 50% off newly opened hotels within their portfolio, including The Hoxton Dublin's first three months of operation.
