Europa-Park Expands with Authentic Wild West Town: Silver Lake City Unveiled

Europa-Park, the largest leisure park in Germany, is investing over €70 million to develop a new themed area, Silver Lake City, on the outskirts of Rust in South Baden. The Western-themed project aims to provide guests with an immersive, authentic Wild West experience.

The expansion of the former Camp Resort will introduce various amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. These include 36 Western Houses and 68 comfortable caravan pitches for accommodation, an atmospheric buffet restaurant called Diner Station, and a charming bar called Wild Horse Bar for evening entertainment.

Leisure activities in Silver Lake City will include an adventure playground, a steam train ride, and a mini golf course themed around the Wild West era called Gold Rush Golf. Future developments for the area include a Riverside Western Lodge set to open in 2026 and a brewery that will offer local craft beers, set to launch a year later.

Europa-Park CEO, Roland Mack, emphasizes the emotional appeal of the Wild West theme and the potential benefits for the park in terms of trends and visitor experiences. Additionally, he highlights the significance of Silver Lake City as a tribute to Baden's historical "New America" area, created in the early 1800s to provide assistance to immigrants who returned to Germany following the 1820 famine.

Mack's son, Thomas, notes the growing demand for luxury camping, an offering now available at the park, which also houses hotels and roller coasters. The Western area is primarily intended for families, with amenities such as a mini-golf course and playgrounds for children.

Europa-Park, founded in 1975, boasts over six million visitors annually. This year marks the park's 50th anniversary, with a jubilee gala planned for July 11. As the park continues to look ahead to the anniversary season, Mack expressed optimism, also noting the positive developments in the park's hotel sector.
