Wizz Air shifts August flights from Bucharest's Băneasa Airport to Otopeni towards the end of August

Wizz Air has announced that all flights scheduled from Bucharest Băneasa - Aurel Vlaicu International Airport between August 26 and September 2, 2025, will be relocated to Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni) due to the temporary closure of Băneasa Airport caused by the Bucharest International Air Show (BIAS).

The BIAS is an independent event and not a part of Wizz Air's operational changes. It is scheduled to take place at Băneasa Airport from August 29 to 31, which is the reason for the airport's temporary closure during that period.

Passengers affected by this change have been notified in advance and are encouraged to log into their Wizz Air profiles on wizzair.com to check their updated itineraries. Options for passengers include rebooking flights, receiving refunds in WIZZ credits, or converting those credits into full cash refunds through the airline’s official channels.

For those who booked through third-party travel agencies, it is advised to reach out directly to their service provider. Changes can be managed through the WIZZ profile or by contacting the airline's Call Center.

It is important to note that the Bucharest International Air Show (BIAS) does not affect the options for rebooking, refunds in WIZZ credits, or converting those credits into a full cash refund for affected passengers. Passengers are not required to attend the BIAS if their flights are relocated to Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni).

Wizz Air apologises for any inconvenience caused by this change and encourages all passengers to stay informed and check their itineraries regularly for updates.
